Workshop Description

This presentation offers an overview of working with adults with ADHD, from assessment to diagnosis to treatment. This program is designed to be helpful to those who are new to working with the ADHD population, and through case examples will hopefully provide something useful to those more experienced in working with ADHD as well.




Educational Goals

This training provides an overview of the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults with ADHD.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the key elements of an ADHD assessment

  • Name at least 2 ways in which ADHD presents differently in populations other than white males

  • Describe two approaches to treatment of adults with ADHD

Presenter

Nader Shabahangi, Ph.D., MFTNicolas Chu is a clinical psychologist practicing individual therapy with tweens, teens, and adults at the Bridge to Bridge Psychotherapy Group. He has worked with the ADHD population since he started his training 15 years ago. Nic practices in Corte Madera, and has previous experience working in a variety of settings, including Kaiser Permanente, Marin County Dept. Health & Human Services, community clinics in the Peninsula, public and charter schools, and the foster care system in NYC.
